Recce

1. Location: Lana's bedroom
Description: Girly bedroom with a vanity area.
Purpose: Lana will be on the phone discussing what she needs for the camping trip. This will make it evident to the audience that the girls are going camping which they do annually. Doll will be on the bed.
Suitable: Lana's character is very girly and takes pride in the way she look so having her in a very feminine bedroom will effectively portray her character to the audience. Another reason this location is suitable is because this is where the creepy doll will first appear. It is essential that the audience see the doll in Lana's bedroom because it will help them connect the dots when the film goes to a flashback where we see Lana steal the doll from the villain's character.
Not Suitable: This might take up too much of our time as the film must be only 5 minutes long.
We will be using this location.

2. Location: Bow Cemetery
Description: Gloomy place in the dark filled with trees and gravestones.
Purpose: The characters are going on a camping trip to the graveyard so we needed this cemetery to prove that they were actually at a graveyard. This will make it spookier for the audience to watch too as graveyards are seen as very creepy haunted settings because of the buried bodies. We will be using this location just for the start of the film for the establishing shot and when the characters first get together.
Suitable: This is the perfect location for a horror film because of the spooky atmosphere it creates with all the trees and grave stones and the fact that it is filled with dead bodies. Another reason this location is suitable is because it makes sense with our storyline as the villain, Naila, is supposed to be buried in the same cemetery the girls are camping in.
Not Suitable: Amongst the cast we have a 10 year old who might be affected by this location because she might develop a fear knowing there are many buried bodies around us. Another reason is because it would seem inappropriate to light a campfire in a graveyard and run around screaming as this is what is required in our film.
We will be using this location.

3. Location: Chigwell Row campsite
Description: A real campsite with a lot of trees and there is a field where we could start a fire.

Purpose: We will move from the graveyard to this place when it gets dark because it is a real campsite, we will film the main scenes here.
Suitable: It is suitable because we can start a fire here without hesitating because we have permission to do so in this setting. Another reason is because the trees in the campsite will create that gloomy atmosphere for the audience and once it gets dark the setting will become even more frightening due to the darkness.
Not Suitable: It is quite far away so there may be trouble getting the whole cast there. We might also find it hard travelling there with all of the filming equipment as they are quite large.
We will be using this location.

4. Location: A school playground
Description: This location is a large field with colourful walls and children's playing equipment.
Purpose: We will film the flashback scene here with the younger cast.
Suitable: This location is suitable because it is a school playground so the children casted in the film will be in a safe comfortable environment as it is their own school. Another reason for this is that it will make evident the idea of how Naila's character was bullied at school by the 4 girls for which she was compelled into committing suicide.
Not Suitable: It may be hard to get the permission to film within the school premises. The teachers in the school may not allow the cast who are also students at this school to come out during lesson time as we need an empty playground for the flashback scene since we don't have the permission to film the rest of the children who may appear in the film if we record during lunch or break time.
We will be using this location.

5. Location: A classroom
Description: A colourful room used for education.
Purpose: The second flashback scene will be filmed in the classroom where the teacher will announce that Naila will no longer be around.
Suitable: This location is suitable because it will be useful for letting the audience know how and why Naila died. This will also make the film and storyline more believable to the audience.
Not Suitable: We might not get permission to film in the classroom of the school
We will be using this location.

6. Location: Harley Grove Garden
Description: A fenced garden area surrounded by colourful flowers and benches.
Purpose: We could have the campfire here.
Suitable: We could easily get permission because it is in our school so it is more likely that we will be allowed to. Another reason is because this location is very close to us so we can easily film here at anytime
Not Suitable: As the garden is very close to the school building, lighting a fire here could start the fire alarms due to the smoke which may go through the windows.
We will not be using this location.

7. Location: Archibald Park
Description: A small park filled with grass and bushes around the fences. There are a few playground equipment and a football/basketball pitch.
Purpose: At the end Naila will be sat on a swing singing a lullaby.
Suitable: This park is very close to us so we can go and film there at anytime of the day. At night the park is empty and looks very dark and gloomy so it looks very scary and the swing at the park makes squeaky noises which will add to the effect.
Not Suitable: Since it is a local park, people might turn up there while we are filming which could disrupt us.
We will be using this location.
